Waterfall on St Lucia

Sulphur water fall at the Pitons.  It's the dry season so the "falls" were not that spectacular and commercialized.  It was taken earlier this month.  Disappointment.


Just wanted to let everyone know we are okay.  Engine failed upon entrance to the harbor...bad fuel.  Why do problems always happen just when we get close to reefs, other boats, bad weather or have limited room for error?

St Lucia Farmers Market produce

Went to the farmers market at the marina today and bought lots of fresh local produce.  Have you ever seen a head of bokchoy this big?  At least that's what the locals call it. I'm thinking it's going to look more like Chinese cabbage once the outer leaves are removed.  Weighs about 6 pounds!

Typical spring wet snow storm - our flight cancelled

All but two of the early morning flights cancelled.  Will try again tomorrow.  We are 1500 feet lower than the airport so we get half the snow.  Very heavy wet snow.  Love seeing the bobbing heads of the daffodils under a layer of spring snow.  The storm appears to have headed northeast so I don't think we'll have a problem getting out tomorrow afternoon.

Air Force Graduation

He did it and graduated with Honors!  We are a very proud Dad and step-mom.  David Todd, my Dad, would also be very proud of Brian.  I wanted to get a picture of a shaved head Brian and Bruce but Brian said he cannot remove his head cover in public.  Don't know if that was when he's in uniform or an unbroken rule....?  We only saw him in uniform so I'm thinking it's the uniform thing.

Leaving St. Lucia for a while..

Bruce saying goodbye to Simba as Bruce's son Air Force graduation in San Antonio is Thursday.  (He graduated with Honors!)
We'll be in Colorado to get Bruce's surgery reversed next week, then we'll return to the Chicken to take it back to Trinidad in early May.

Little side trip while at the Rodney Bay dock

Since we're going home to Colorado in 2 days, we decided to take a road taxi trip to the Pitons.  Got skunked with both the "waterfall" and the Piton crater.  Not worth seeing after being to the Chateaubelair waterfall or Hawaii's volcanoes.  Nice road trip though, we all fell asleep on the way back to the marina.  Guess we've been there and done that.  Stopped at a gas station and got junk food to nibble on, that perked us all up.  Cheese doodles or whatever they call them.
