Picture of the Day 1/30/13

I just happened to notice a large bald eagle flying down the river and watched as he landed on this perch.

WOW! What a 60th B-day!

Received a strange email message from Patti after my birthday dinner out with Bruce "Check the Garage".  WTF?  So I went to the garage and found this wine box with aluminum foil over the top.  ????
It was a still warm home baked blueberry pie with "60" on top.  This birthday I'll never forget, even after Patti taking us out to dinner in Aspen, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot, Rich throwing up and getting the Flu, tromping through the mud with the beer can tossing 18-24 year olds' to get to the X-Games, waiting for a bus in the rain....on and on.

Saturday Night at the X-Games

A little whiffs of ganja in the air but not as much as expected with MJ now legal in Colorado.

Stupid kids littering the area with beer cans before they had to go through security.  I was yelling "litter bugs!" but it didn't seem to matter to them.
It was a drizzly and foggy night amongst thousands of 18-24 year old's.  Its better watching it on ESPN but you don't get the crazy energy that comes from being in the crowd watching it live.

Friday Gay Ski Week Finale

These guys were hilarious.  After barely being able to snow plow down Aspen Mountain they did a skit to the tune of "Call Me Maybe".  They ended their skit by bending down backwards and had "Call" "Me" "May" "Be" on their panties.

Question:  Why do overweight gay guys want to dress up as cheerleaders with huge boobs?

The sun was in my face so I really couldn't get a good picture.

Winter X -Game preparations

Buttermilk ski area.  X-Games begin January 24 through January 27th.  Top photo shows the super half pipe on the left and the jump area on the right.  While we have little snow, it's been very cold so snow making as been underway for weeks.

Some great pictures are sure to come in the next week

Oh Boy Mon.  This week is going to be crazy!!  A decade ago when I was an Ambassador on Snowmass I saw a group of five absolutely GORGEOUS guys standing around and didn't figure it out until they all starting hugging and kissing each other goodbye.  OMG!  Friday at the Little Nell when a contest is held will be a real fun.  I'll take the pictures!!

GO BRONCOS!

Well, the lucky jersey worked in the past...not so today.  :-(

It's a sad day in Colorado.

Soupskol Aspen with Max the Moose!

It was so cold we only lasted 15 minutes before heading to the Cantina for a margarita.
How cold was it?  It was about 10 degrees but the wind chill brought it down to zero.
Who's Max the Moose?  He's the Buttermilk ski area mascot.
What is Soupskol?  It's where many area restaurants provide samples of their signature soups.  See the spoons in our mitten-ed hands?

A little hike up Independence Pass

Such a beautiful blue bird day!  15 degrees, no wind, clear blue skies and sunshine.  Had to go up to the high country, just past Kevin Costner's compound where they block the Pass off for the winter.

Can't believe I wore those pants outside the house!
