Tortola, BVI

We are in Road Town, Tortola, BVI
I had Bruce's passport and he couldn't get to Tortola from St. Thomas without it.  Fortunately I was flying in the next day and an awesome Customs Agent who walked me through all the steps to get him a ticket from St. Thomas to Tortola without a passport using his personal phone.  Many thanks and hugs to all the great people here who helped me get Bruce out of STT to Tortola without his passport in hand!!!
I haven't pulled an all-nighter for 40 some years.  It been 36 hours with a 2 hour nap.  Guess I haven't lost it yet.
Yea.

Elusive mountain lion returns

This was taken 2 days ago.  You can clearly see the cat paw prints in the snow.
This evening I was out on the deck looking at the prints in the snow and saw a couple extra in the path.
I think this cat has returned.
Critter cam didn't pick up anything so I have to adjust the timer.  It would be awesome to have a winter picture of a big cat!

Bruce is on his way to Tortola.  I follow tomorrow with extra camera batteries!

Edgar the snow angel elf

He's so happy he's going home to Santa tonight and getting away from those Anderson people.  He's going to request a re-assignment next year!

OMG!

First, these people fed me to a large lizard, left me out in the snow and now they have me in the wood pile for the fireplace.  I don't know if I'm going to survive 3 more days!!!
I need a new family to watch over!

Door was locked!

We found Edgar patiently waiting to get back inside this morning.
Baby, it was cold last night!

I got stuck!

Edgar wanted to get most of the way down but his Anderson tummy got in the way!
Edgar says he'll find a better place tomorrow night.

Meet Edgar

This is our elf on the shelf, Edgar, named after Bruce's Dad.  I didn't know how Santa got his information about who's naughty or nice; now I know.
Check back to see where he is tomorrow.

We left the boat in Road Town, Tortola for a month.  Until then, watch what Edgar is up to!

In Nanny Cay "key"

Still no new pics because no camera charger.
All is well.  Waiting to find out if the boat can stay here for the month or we  if we have to move.
Minor tropical wave moving through.  Raining and lighting storms.
This is a nice place to stay.
We were six peeps, down to five, down to four and tomorrow down to three.
Told Bruce a hundred times that Jesus was born in a manger because there was no room at the Inn.
Same for the Chicken....if you don't make reservations...there's no room at the Marina!

Drones!

No pics because I don't have my camera charger but everywhere we go people are flying stupid drones!  At night too!!!
The nighttime ones have port and starboard lights.  Crazy stuff.

Bitter End, Virgin Gorda

Took a little hike up into the hillside and this was the view.  FRC is the boat to the left of Saba Rock with the structures on it.
We're now back in Road Town, Tortola...hit the bottom coming into the harbor but all is well.

Anageda island

Bruce tried to find lobsters but the water was too murky around the reefs.  Nice beach though!?

Maximum island elevation is about 26 feet for the entire island.  Not some place you would want to be in a hurricane!

Our trip to the Maroon Bells

Buses transport to the Bells only.  Three young girls gave up their seats for us because of the sign.  UGH!

Costco or home grown?

Our first beefsteak home grown tomato!
The one on the left came from Costco.

Bear visit

 poop
The bear tore every bag out of the trash can with the locks in tact!

Softie Bruce...back on the main land

Tired of having to shoo the kitties off his recliner, he bought the cats a kitty tree.  They love it and no more competition of the living room chairs!

This is what finally took us out

See the curved metal between the first and second spreader on starboard?  No way we could be on starboard tack with that missing.
We were lucky that the whole mast didn't come down!

One bowman's idea of mast climbing

Andy doesn't like the bosuns chair and preferred his climbing gear.   Looks uncomfortable?  His choice.

Beautiful day for a raft trip

Bruce and delivery crew is in Charleston SC getting ready to take FRC  up the coast to Massachusetts for Marion - Bermuda race on June 19th.
I'll be meeting him there later this month to provision for the trip.

Foxy!

We stopped putting food out for the critters because baby bear is roaming the neighborhood but Foxy still comes by.

The police came by early this morning to tell us that baby bear hit our trash can last night.

Awww.. Got step mothers flowers for Mother's day.!

Thank you Lauren!  I added some greenery later and the buds opened to be awesome!

These apparently came from ProFlowers and they arrived in perfect bud form and were totally in full force by Mothers Day.

Bear food

Our apple tree is loaded with blossoms this year.
If we don't have a hard freeze, we'll probably see lots of bears in our yard this fall.

Engineers do strange things...

Like taking the temperature of boiling water.

Answer:  water boils at 200 degrees at 6,300 feet.

Yawn.

Bruce wears makeup!

Looks like he's loving it!!!

We had a photo shoot at the house today for an ad campaign for a local Realtor and Bruce had to be made up.  Mascara, brow pencil, blush and a good head powdering.  Too funny!

I brushed the cats and got a cat!

About a months' worth accumulation of brushing.  Lots of it was condensed and if I had taken the time to spread and separate it, it would have amounted to a fur animal about twice the size of a normal cat.  Gunnars' looking good.  Hydration is the key.
I don't post grandkids photos because we don't have any, thank god.  So you're stuck with my cats in retaliation.

Turkeys!

There were about a dozen plus of them!  They run away if you get close so I only got 6 in this picture.
I was on my way home from the grocery store.
